We are delighted to announce the official international launch of the Legatum Institute’s Global Index of Economic Openness (GIEO), today in the Chamber of the House of Representatives in the Indiana State Capitol Building.

This important index will enable governments across the world to assess the economic impact of their policy choices and it offers policymakers a unique tool to create pathways from poverty to prosperity for some of the world’s most disadvantaged people.

Launching in the US Midwest

The decline of traditional manufacturing industries has hit the people of the US Midwest hard and taken its toll on their communities. But a new and exciting enterprise culture is emerging, with the potential to generate significant economic growth and prosperity. We have therefore chosen the Midwestern state of Indiana and the splendour of the Indiana State Capitol Building, in Indianapolis, as the launch pad for our new Index. We will be hosting some exciting keynote speakers and exploring our findings with a panel of esteemed experts in the field (full details to follow).

Doors will open at 8am and we will be serving a complimentary light breakfast with teas and coffees.
