Doug Stokes

Professor Doug Stokes is the Director of the Strategy and Security Institute at the University of Exeter. Doug’s research examines issues in international security, the durability of the Western liberal international order and the relationship between the ‘culture wars’ and strategic agency. He has published many academic articles and books, and writes regularly for the media including the Spectator, the Times and the Telegraph.  His latest book,  ‘Against Decolonisation: Campus Culture Wars and the Decline of the West’ examines the theories of the new social justice movements and critiques their call for the West’s self-erasure through a form of deconstructive redemption.
