This webinar, hosted by the Legatum Institute and UK Trade and Investment, offered participants a summary of the latest findings from the 2014 Legatum Prosperity Index, helping to steer export strategies.
On this webinar Joana Alfaiate, Research Analyst for the Legatum Prosperity Index, highlights how the Index can be useful when taking business decisions on exports and investment, by looking at countries and regions from a broader perspective than just economic factors.
The Index offers a wide range of indicators that can be useful when expanding businesses to other countries, such as risk assessment (government stability and openness, and corruption levels); rule of law and quality regulation or levels of tolerance for immigrants, plus the usual indicators relevant for investment, such as the cost of doing business and efficiency of local markets. At the webinar, looking at the broad regions of the world through the Prosperity Index’s lenses revealed interesting trends, such as the extraordinary rise of some Asian countries or the marked potential of the Latin American region when providing educational services or infrastructure.
